A Guide to S’mores Dessert Board from Start to Finish

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a S’mores Dessert Board. Create a customizable dessert platter with your favorite chocolates and cookies.

A wood tray with graham crackers, skewers/marshmallow forks, a ceramic platter with cookies and marshmallows, and chocolate bars on the other side of the ceramic platter on the wood tray.

You’ve heard of a Charcuterie board, and I’m sure you’ve made one (it is the trend right now), but have you tried a S’mores Dessert Board? I Love any excuse to eat a melted marshmallow with chocolate, but what if I told you it doesn’t just have to be graham crackers and chocolate? It also doesn’t have to be a long homemade process either! Yup, this simple DIY requires you to run to fav store and grab all of your fav candy and cookies. Hello Elder Millenial Nostalgia!

All you have to do is buy up any (or all, I’m not here to judge) of your favorite chocolate candies and cookies. Put them all on a cute platter/board/tray with some skewers and DONE!

What to Put On Your Sā€™mores Dessert Board:

  • Graham crackers, I’ve also seen chocolate-covered Graham Cracker squares, and they have become a fav in this house for S’mores.
  • Cookies: Oreos, chocolate chip, oatmeal, fudge striped, and pretty much any Girl Scout cookie (or store version of GSC) works.
  • Marshmallows, I mean it’s not a s’more without marshmallows!
  • Chocolate bars (Any chocolate is great! Dark, milk, cookies + cream, white, or ruby will work.)
  • Reeseā€™s Peanut Butter Cups are amazing for this!
  • Fruit (if you want to try to tell yourself it’s “healthy” you could use any type of berries, apples, or pears. Just make sure your slice them, it’s easier to eat)
  • Peanut butter is great too. When I decide to use peanut butter, I like to place it in a small bowl/ramekin and tuck it into the platter with a cute butter knife for spreading.
  • Skewers. I like these extendable roasting sticks because I can use them at our tiny gas fireplace or a camping fire and they work great for both! They’re also really inexpensive and easy to store away. You can also use the heavy-duty ones for hot dogs as well.

Layering and Aesthetics

I personally prefer layering my S’mores Dessert Board with trays and platters. It makes carrying easier, and the layers help you with the look and feel (without the stress).

Tray

Platter

I personally LOVE Mora Ceramics and their platters are my absolute favorite!

Just a Board

If you’re looking to make your S’mores Dessert Board more like a Charcuterie Board, this cuddle board set by WeMade is perfect for it.

More rustic/Camp Style

Maybe you want something more “camp” looking for your S’mores Dessert Board? How about a large (15 inc) Enamel Paella Pan? I love the speckled enamel covering that makes it look more like “camp” cookware.

Description

S’mores dessert platters are a delightful and simple way to upgrade this traditional camping favorite.

Ingredients

Graham crackers, I’ve also seen chocolate-covered Graham Cracker squares, and they have become a fav in this house for S’mores.

Cookies: Oreos, chocolate chip, oatmeal, fudge striped, and pretty much any Girl Scout cookie (or store version of GSC) works.

Marshmallows, I mean it’s not a s’more without marshmallows!

Chocolate bars (Any chocolate is great! Dark, milk, cookies + cream, white, or ruby will work.

Reeseā€™s Peanut Butter Cups are amazing for this!

Fruit (if you want to try to tell yourself it’s “healthy” you could use any type of berries, apples, or pears. Just make sure your slice them, it’s easier to eat)

Peanut butter (or other kinds of nut butter).

Instructions

  1. Arrange chosen ingredients (from above) on the platter or tray of choice in a fun/pretty way (think of it like art, so honestly whatever you think is perfect. Remember, art is subjective).
  2. If you choose peanut butter, scoop some into a small bowl/ramekin and tuck it into the platter with a cute butter knife for spreading.
  3. Place skewers down along the sides of the platter or tray. I like these extendable roasting sticks because I can use them at our tiny gas fireplace or a camping fire and they work great for both! They’re also really inexpensive and easy to store away. You can also use the heavy-duty ones for hot dogs as well.
