Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 Loaf of French bread
  • 1/2 cup one stick salted butter softened
  • 8 oz of cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 garlic cloves grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 oz Colby jack cheese shredded
  • fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425° F.
  2. Cut your French bread loaf lengthwise and place them on top of a lined baking sheet
  3. In a mixing bowl combine softened butter & cream cheese, onion powder, grated garlic, and Italian seasoning. Spread evenly on each side of the garlic bread. Top with Colby Jack cheese.
  4. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. You can also broil the top for 1-2 minutes at the end, to give it a more crisp and browned top.
  6. Top with the fresh chopped parsley.
  7. Slice into easy-to-grab sizes and serve on your favorite platter/cutting board.

Notes

  • Everything should be at room temp. Trust me! This will not go well if you attempt to pull your butter and cream cheese straight out of the
  • A hand mixer makes quick work, but it’s not necessary. Simply mixing by hand works too.
