Cheesy Garlic Bread
This fun twist on Garlic Bread includes a layer of Colby Jack Cheese and a delicious garlic butter-cream cheese mixture, placed atop chewy French bread.
Happy Dairy Month!
It’s June, and you know what that means? Dairy! It’s Dairy Month, and being a Wisocnsite, I’m all about it! I love everything dairy, cheese, milk, ice cream, butter, you name it, I love it! Not only is today part of dairy month, but today is also National Cheese Day! So, how about we make some Garlic Cheese Bread to celebrate both?
This recipe is full of all the goodness, garlic, and cheese. It’s honestly really easy to make. Just stop out at your local bakery, grab a french bread loaf, then stop out at your local grocery store and grab the rest (Or, if your grocery store has an amazing bakery, you can get everything in one place).
Cheesy Garlic Bread Ingredients
Cream Cheese
Cream cheese just adds more creamy cheesiness to it and a fun tang to it, that cuts some of that richness from the butter and cheese.
Butter
I used Salted butter… again for convenience… but if you would rather use unsalted butter… add about 1/4-1/2 tsp of salt.
Fresh Garlic
I like the sharper taste of fresh garlic vs the garlic powder. however, if you find you don’t have any fresh garlic on hand… you’ll need about 1/2 tsp of garlic powder (but I really recommend using fresh garlic cloves and grating it.
The Dry Ingredients
I use onion powder, and dry Italian Seasoning in this as well to give it a little extra. Anytime I had garlic I try to add onion somehow. They go hand in hand like to BBFs.
Colby Jack Cheese
I love this cheese for this recipe. It’s a great soft and melty cheese. It has a great pull to it when it melts (see the quick video below).
It has a nice subtle Cheese flavor and is perfect for stuff like this and even mac and cheese.
Bread
I used a grocery store French Bread for this. I loved that it has a good crusty outside and soft inside. If you’re feeling really ambitious… you could make the bread… but I wanted this to be as easy as possible.
Fresh parsley
I like to finish off the bread with a light sprinkle of fresh parsley. But if you don’t have it skip it and just enjoy the cheesy goodness.

Jenn’s Notes:
- Everything should be at room temp. Trust me! This will not go well if you attempt to pull your butter and cream cheese straight out of the fridge.
- A hand mixer makes quick work, but it’s not necessary. Simply mixing by hand works too.
What to Serve with Your Cheesy Garlic Bread
This bread is great with a nice soup, like the Chicken, Spinach, and Gnocchi Soup or even a simple one-pot pasta dish like the Asparagus and Bacon Rigatoni recipe or even an easy One-Pot Rigatoni Ragu
Or you could make it a fun party and offer small strips of this cheesy garlic bread along with some Chicken Wings, Ranch Dressing & chips, and Marinated Cherry Tomato Mozzarella Salad.
Please let me know how your bread turns out in the comments! I love hearing from you. Please also tell me what resources will be helpful for you during this time.
