Can you freeze pancakes? Absolutely and I’m going to show you how to save those pancakes for later and how to reheat them so they’re just as fluffy and delicious as the ones you just made. Gone are the days you thought a pancake mix was the only way to get diner-quality pancakes in a flash. Start your day off right by enjoying your pancakes from scratch anytime!

You’re not limited to freezing just plain pancakes, either! If you’re a chocolate chip lover, or if blueberry pancakes hold the key to your heart, you can freeze those pancakes just as easily as the buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes you make. So, heat up your griddle and grab your favorite syrup! We’re making pancakes.

Before we get started, here are a few items you’ll need:

  1. Freezer Bags (I use Stasher stand-up bags and put all the pancakes in one bag. You can also use the sandwich bags and pack 3-4 individually for personal use).
  2. Baking sheet and a silicone mat (The silicone mat is not a necessity, but I highly recommend it, it really helps keep things from sticking.)

Step 1

Take all the pancakes and lay them in one layer on the baking sheet, then place them in the freezer. Let them sit for at least 2 hours, but it could be more or less depending on the setting on your freezer.

**If you’re using stasher bags, I highly recommend you label and date them first with a chalk marker then continue to step two. – On the images, I do it after, but after a few times of trial and error, I have found that labeling BEFORE you put anything cold is MUCH better. See my Reels video below for the deets.

Step 2

Take them out of the freezer and place them immediately into your freezer bag.

Step 3

Make sure you push out the air and put them immediately into the freezer so they’re ready anytime you want!

When you’re ready to eat them…

If you used the mega stand-up stasher bags or any other storage bag/container – Simply pull out however many you want (I recommend 1-3 pancakes at a time) and microwave them on a microwave-safe plate for about 1 minute (You may need more time depending on your microwave, but I recommend starting at 1 minute, then. adding 30 secs if needed).

If you did the individual portion storage using the Stasher Sandwich Bags: you can simply open the Stasher Sandwich bag and put it in the microwave and microwave them for about 1 minute (You may need more time depending on your microwave, but I recommend starting at 1 minute, then. adding 30 secs if needed).
