5 from 1 review

This Golden Milk Latte is a true latte. Milk, cinnamon, Chinese five spice, and turmeric are added to a shot of espresso, and some maple syrup for sweetness. The flavors are warm and cozy. Drink it hot or iced. It’s a simple recipe that’s quick and easy to make, ready in ten minutes, and only needs six ingredients!

  • Total Time: 7 minutes
  • Yield: 1 latte 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 shot of Espresso (See Notes 1 for Substitutions)
  • 1 cup milk (See Notes 2 for Substitutions)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Chinese Five Spice
  • 1 Tablespoon Maple syrup [More or less, this is to taste] (See NOTES 3 for substitutions)

Instructions

  1. Brew your espresso (or coffee).
  2. Add the spices to the milk and froth.
  3. Pour the espresso into a mug with maple syrup.
  4. Add the frothed, spiced milk. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on the top, if you’re feeling extra fancy.

Notes

Substitutions

  1. 1 cup of coffee (or Cold Brew)
  2. 1:1 ratio heavy cream (for a creamier version), or dairy alternative
  3. 1:1 ratio honey or agave

Tips

  • Be sure to blend the ingredients very well. You will have a few grains of the spices in the bottom of the cup, you can always have a spoon in the cup to stir as you drink. If you’re not a fan, you can strain with a fine mesh strainer before drinking to eliminate more spice remnants.
  • This drink can be enjoyed iced. Simply make it as directed and pour over ice.
